Love it. Go paperless and save the environment but the thousands of emails that need to be processed and stored equal how much environmental impact?

I agree, more integration is better!

As for posting to other networks, so far FF allows you to pipe your activity to Twitter (see http://www.friendfeed.com/account). Also, if you comment on an imported tweet, there's a checkbox to also post the comment as an @reply.

As for importing from other networks, you have many options (this is what FF is all about!).

To follow Twitter contacts not on FF, there are 2 options: a private room to which you attach your Twitter contacts' feeds, or just adding them individually as Imaginary Friends (see http://friendfeed.com/settings/imaginary).

Remember, you can follow anything that's got an RSS feed. If you attach it to your FF account proper, you're publishing it for everyone who follows you to see as well (which may or may not be what you want); if you attach the feed via an Imaginary Friend or a Room, you're creating something that you follow (others may follow too in the case of public rooms, or if you invite them to a private one).

The ability to subscribe (and publish) any RSS feed is an important aspect of FF. It allows you a lot of control while the FF team is busy adding more and more goodness (aka, integration).

My absolute favorite thing about FF is that it doesn't require me to create a whole new social network.

I wish friend feed would let me post to my different social networks as well - and that it would bring in my information from those different networks. For instance on Twitter I have about 30 people I follow but none of their tweets show up in my main friend feed - becuase they don't have friend feed accounts for me to follow.

I don't want to have to build a new social network (again) I'd rather the new contacts I make at FF just complimented my current one.

He is very convincing isn't he? I was excited to hear mention of science in the inaugural speech. I am waiting for the 'it no longer matters' day :-)

I was ecstatic too by just being named. It is amazing for me how people talk about race and gender (would a black man make it, would a woman make it) but it seems clear that there is no way an atheist will make it.

Nevertheless your last paragraph are my sentiments exactly. He may be in church but he also promised to restore science to its place, that is a very good starting :)

Hey Heather, you're doing awesome! You found us all on Kiva's email group, and now commenting on a blog! Hope to see you at FriendFeed too! :) (http://www.friendfeed.com/rooms/aasfshnr)

I think smiling and grunting is a pretty fair response. But I would be very tempted to bark out something like "Yes, well, it was nice of him to intervene on our behalf this time around." I mean, it kind of puts what they're saying in perspective.

I guess really what many people mean is "I sympathized with your dilemma" (and all they could think to do was ask their imaginary friend for help -- and they want credit for it). Maybe in that light it's fair to ask them to do something practical for you next time (like prepare a meal or do your housecleaning for you). :)

OK - I have never tried this sort of thing before (Friend Feed) and am rather old and technologically challenged, but game to give it a go.

So here is an issue I would like feedback comments on from this non-religious international community - without burdening the Kiva website.

My son, aged 20 and previously healthy, became gravely ill before Christmas - nearly died from about four different things. He is now fine, and it was traumatic, but I have various well-meaning but Christian friends who keep telling me how much they prayed for him.

Any suitable responses? ( - I have just been smiling and grunting, while in my emails to all friends on the subject, written that he has only survived thanks to expert medical help and equipment, and the fact we live in Australia where public hospitals are completely free and excellent. )

Heather from Melbourne
